I really don't know how to sum up the last 6 months other than we had a fabulous summer, doing TONS of different activities. McKenzie turned 2 and keeps Mom and Dad on their toes! Burton just started preschool and is doing so good. So there is a very short version of the last 6 months! I am always jealous when I read other people's blogs because they are so creative in their writing. I just tell it like it is, I guess :)

Oh yeah, and I did go New York in June, which was absolutely fabulous! The first night there we went to Times Square and I had SO much fun. It was so fun shopping at midnight, that's my kind of town! We also saw Wicked while there and it was absolutely amazing, my new favorite broadway play. It is such a different world there. I would never want to live there and raise my kids there, but I can't wait to go back someday!

Happy 10 Year Anniversary Honey!

Holy cow, 10 years, seriously?! How time does fly. Well, I've been trying to think of a way to tell my husband how much I love him, so I thought maybe I would do it on our blog, so everyone else can know how wonderful he is! So, I have come up with a list of 10 reasons why I love him:

1. He makes me laugh. The first thing that I liked about Brandon was that he was constantly making me laugh and he still manages to do it after 10 years.

2. He loves me unconditionally. I know I can be a pain in the butt sometimes :) But he always puts up with me and still loves me in spite of it all.

3. He never complains. He gets up and goes to work every day and I have NEVER heard him complain once about this. Now anyone who knows me, knows that I pretty much complain about everything, so this is a trait that I really admire in my husband. I know it must not be that fun to get up every day and go to work while I get to do the best job in the world and stay home with the kids, but he does it to provide for us and I appreciate it SO much.

4. As Dr. Laura says, he would cross shark infested waters to bring me a Diet Coke! I know without a doubt that my husband would do just about anything for me or my kids. He practically has swam through shark infested waters to bring me many a Diet Coke.

5. I can count on him to take care of us. I never have to worry that he would not do everything in his power to provide for his family. He would probably sell a kidney before he would let his family go hungry.

6. He is a wonderful Dad. He loves his kids to death and is a great father to them. He wants only the best for them and always wants to make sure they are protected.

7. He evens me out. I tend to be a little high strung and Brandon is very laid back, so he really helps to even me out. When I have had it up to my eyeballs with the kids, he is always there to rescue me!

8. He can't stay mad at me. Now this one might seem a little strange, but when I get mad, I can hold a grudge for a while. Not Brandon, he can't stay mad at me for more than like 10 minutes and even if he didn't cause the fight will come and apologize. I love this because I in turn forgive him and don't continue to hold a grudge for the next 2 days.

9. He is thoughtful. He is always thinking about other people and doing nice things for them. When we lived with my parents for several months, he would snowplow the driveway every time it snowed and mow the lawn almost every Saturday without ever being asked.

10. He loves the Lord. I know he has a close relationship with his Heavenly Father and looks to Him when making decisions for himself and our family.

Well, of course there are many other reasons I love him, but I wanted to do the top 10 since it's been 10 years. I know I don't do as good of a job as I should at telling you and showing you how much I love and appreciate you, but I will try harder. I do love you so much and I know we will have many more happy years together. Happy Anniversary!

My First Baby is 4!

Holy cow, I know I say this a lot, but time really flies. Burton just turned 4 this past Monday and I just can't believe how big he is getting and how fast it goes. We had a Spongebob party on Saturday with family and he loved opening his presents and eating cake. Brandon and I gave him a Leapster 2 and he has hardly put it down since he got it. I was afraid he wouldn't like it!

Then on Monday, we went to Chuck E Cheese. Burton has wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese ever since his last birthday and we have been telling him for the past year that he could go there for his next birthday, so obviously we had to take him. I was afraid it might not live up to his expectations, but we all had a blast playing games. Of course he has been asking ever since if we can go back, so we'll have to take him there again before his next birthday! I am so grateful for his sweet little spirit. He is such a good boy and so sweet to his little sister. Sometimes I'm not sure what I did to get such a sweet little boy.

As for McKenzie, she is also getting so big and starting to talk more and more (FINALLY!). For the most part she is a sweetheart, but man is she ever a girl! Oh the drama! She threw a full blown tantrum the other day and I just haven't had to deal much with that, so I left her in the family room to throw her tantrum and told her I would talk to her when she calmed down. After a few minutes of throwing a fit, she was back to being herself. Her personality is exactly like her mother, so we'll either be good friends or butt heads all the time!

Other than that, not much else going on. Well except that Brandon and I are going to celebrate out 10 year anniversary on Wednesday! More to come on that on Wednesday, so check back.

Times flies!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. I know I am not very good at updating this thing, but it never feels like it's been as long as it really has. I just get so busy with these little kiddos that the time just flies by.

So, things are going good, no big changes or anything. McKenzie has had a rough last couple months. I honestly think the poor girl has not felt good for over a month. She finally got tubes in her ears because she has had yet another ear infection. Then shortly after that came down with Roseola, then a few days after that she was throwing up. Plus on top of all of that, she is getting some of her molars. Whew! She was SO flippin ornery for about two weeks in there, that I really ever wondered if she was going to be normal again. Finally, yesterday and today, she has been like her old self again, just happy and cute as ever.

Burton is just getting so big and I can't believe he will be 4 soon. He is such a sweetheart and I hope and pray that never changes. He is so sweet to his little sister (most of the time) and just has such a sweet personality. I really need to start writing things down that he says because they are so funny and then of course later I can't remember them.

As for Brandon and I, we are doing good. So, here it is. For her birthday, I rented a pavilion at the pool at the Kearns rec center because it was super cheap and because she LOVES the water. She had so much fun swimming and it was so nice because it wasn't crowded. She didn't get nearly as messy as I thought she would with her cake, but she really loved it. She just wasn't sure what to do with it. I gave her a big cupcake and she couldn't figure out how to get it in her mouth. Finally, I broke it up into little pieces and she went to town! I just can't believe that she is one already! That first year goes by so dang fast, one minute they are so tiny and you blink and they are twice as big and crawling around making messes everywhere! I wish they would stay little just a little while longer.

Cutest Kids Ever!

Okay, so I'm sure everyone thinks that about their own kids, but that's the way it should be, right?

I know this is very unusual for me to do this much posting, but I just had to share some pics that we had taken today for McKenzie's first birthday tomorrow. The pics turned out cute, but I was not very impressed with JCPenney this time around. Just a side note for anyone thinking about going there.

I can't believe my little girl is going to be one tomorrow. It blows me away how fast the time goes. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and the weather was really nice, not too hot. When he wants to know what choices he has for something he says "What do they have else?". It's pretty funny.

In my last post, I noted all these things that McKenzie was doing, but I can't believe I forgot to post about her crawling, DUH! She got a late start (about 10 months), but is crawling like a pro now. She also said her first official word the other day "Uh-oh". It was a very definite uh-oh and she only says it occasionally, but it definitely counts. Tonight, Brandon and I swear she was saying "Thank you". She said it several times and it was so cute. I can't believe my little girl is going to be one next week!

Finally, Some Pictures!

Well, we finally got our new computer so now I will probably be posting a lot more. The old computer was just so darn slow to do anything, I tried to avoid using it. So, I just wanted to update with some pics cause I have so many cute ones, but I'll only post a few.

We went to the parade on the 24th and it was pretty fun. Burton seemed to enjoy the whole thing and McKenzie started out liking it, but her interest faded pretty fast. She really liked the policemen on their motorcycles.

McKenzie I swear said her first word the other day. We were at Costco and I gave her a book to play with and she started waving her hand and said a very clear "hi". My Mom was there to witness it. She also is getting her first tooth right now. It's been a long time since I updated this thing. I am sitting here in Burton's room waiting for him to go to sleep, which isn't really happening, and thought hmm I should hurry and update my blog. I can't post any pictures though cause we got a new computer and I haven't put the software for my camera on it yet.

Gosh, it's been so long, I don't even know what has happened since my last post. I do know we were very sick at our house for a long time. I got the worst of it unfortunately and am just barely starting to feel 100% normal again. But now Brandon has a little bit of what I had so I hope it doesn't turn into what I had. Adeno virus is NEVER allowed near our house again!

Things are just moving along like normal here. Burton is almost 3.5 and Kenz is almost 1 year old. Holy cow, seriously where does the time go?

We did go to Lagoon last week in a huge rain storm, but nonetheless, Burton had a BLAST! He loved going on all of the kiddie rides and rode his favorite ride about 10 times. I think he had more fun at Lagoon than at Disneyland.

Well, I wish I could post some pics because I have so many new ones, but I gotta get the software on here first. Maybe next post, and I will try not to go 2 months between posts again!

Quick Update

I am supposed to be watching a movie, so I'm going to make this quick. Not too much has happened recently. Burton did go to a karate class and really liked it, but I think I am going to wait a few more months to start him in the class. McKenzie just keeps growing like a weed, I will post some pics of her with some pigtails from the other day, she looked so cute. My SIL Angie had her baby today and it was so crazy to see how small he was and how big Kenz is now compared to him. Other than that, nothing too exciting has happened, we are just liking the weather turning nice so we can be outside more!

For those who don't already know, we did FINALLY sell our house in Phoenix! We are so glad to be done with that ordeal.

Oh, and can I just also say how much I absolutely LOVE being a Mom and I am so extremely grateful that I get to stay home with my two little angels!

Pics!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326914470026167314" style="DISPLAY: block; It was nice to get away from the cold and snow and I just love my parents house down there. We went on a little hike while we were there and it was nice to get out in nature and it was so beautiful. That was the first hike for both Burton and McKenzie. It must have worn them out because they both zonked on the way home. Since then, we have just been hanging out at home waiting for the weather to get nice so we can go outside. I will post some pics below. Okay, or not because the website is not letting me, so I'll do it later.

Birthday and Disneyland!

Well, I have been horrible about keeping this blog updated. So, this will be a long update because a lot has happened since my last post!

Burton turn 3 on February 8th! He was SO excited to have cake and open presents. We just had people over to our house for a small party and he kept asking me all day when people were coming. His cake turned out absolutely adorable (thanks Aunt DeeAnn), but then on the way home he totally fell apart. I felt absolutely horrible and called my Aunt and she was so sweet to come over to my house and fix his cake and he looked good as new! Burton got a whole bunch of toys that he did not need and a cool Cars chair. It wasn't quite as exciting as Christmas, but he sure had fun and loved it. It was so fun to see him so excited.

We just got back from Disneyland a few days ago and we had so much fun there too! We drove to California, so we broke it up into two days, spent 3 days in Disneyland and drove back in 2 days. Disneyland was exhausting, but so much fun. We had a few meltdowns (Mom included) but overall we had a good time. I still think kids need to be a little older to go, but Burton loved the kid rides and Pirates of the Caribbean. He wasn't tall for a lot of the adult rides, but he was so excited to go on the Matterhorn and I thought for sure he would freak out and not go, but to my surprise it was the very first ride we went on and he did great. He didn't cry, but when it was over he didn't want to do it again. McKenzie did so good in Disneyland, she went on a lot of rides with me and was such a good baby the whole time. Burton was just exhausted and right on the brink of getting sick so by the second day he was whining and crying a lot and wanting to be held ALL the time. Brandon had to leave the 2nd day and by the morning of the 3rd day after we walked from the hotel to Disneyland and both kids were crying and I had no husband to help me, I had a small breakdown, but thanks to my family we got through it, LOL! I LOVE Disneyland and would love to go back with just Brandon and me so we can just hit all the big rides as many times as we want! Three days wasn't long enough to do everything.

Here are a few pics of my darling kids. About a week before Christmas we moved into our own house. I really hate moving, but now that we are settled, it was all worth it. So, Christmas was fun being in our own place as a family. Burton got the two things he wanted most, GeoTrax airport and a train table. His reaction to GeoTrax airport was hilarious, he was yelling and screaming and was so excited.

The day after Christmas we went down to St. George for a week and that was a blast as well. We spent time with both of our families, which I always love spending time with family. I especially love when Brandon takes work off so we can all be together.

Once we got home from St. George I decided to try to potty train Burton. He did absolutely amazing and pretty much trained himself. I have tried in the past, but I guess he just wasn't ready because this time was SO easy. My MIL told me to not be surprised or frustrated when McKenzie is not that easy because it's not typical for them to potty train that easy.

Yesterday I went snowboarding with my good friend Deb for the first time in like 4 years. It was SO much fun. I forgot how much I love snowboarding and it was so fun to spend some time with my good friend that I don't get to see very often.

As for McKenzie, she is doing well and just growing like a weed. I don't know what was wrong. So, Christmas is almost here, I can't believe it. Thanksgiving was fun, we spent it with Brandon's family since my fam was down in St. George. Burton had a blast playing with his cousins all weekend. McKenzie is doing good, just growing like a weed. Below are some updated pics of her. I love the one where she fell asleep in her Bumbo!

Halloween!

Well Halloween came and went a few weeks ago, but I have not put any pics on my blog from Halloween. Burton dressed up as a skunk, or as he liked to call it, a stunk. We went to his Grammie's Ward party, our Ward party and then went trick or treating the night of Halloween. He of course had a blast trick or treating with his cousins. I think he was in awe that he could just knock on someone's door and they would give him candy. As most of you probably already know, my son LOVES candy, so he thought it was great. McKenzie just had a Halloween outfit and she stayed home while we went trick or treating because it was kind of cold and rainy. Maybe next year she can come along! Speaking of Kenz, she is getting SO big. She is 2 1/2 months old now and just getting bigger every day. She is such a sweet and good baby and such a nice addition to our family.

As for the rest of us. I am just in the never ending search for a new house and still trying to get the house in Phoenix sold. It is a never ending battle I'm afraid. As for Brandon, he's just working away so that when we finally sell our house, we can buy a new one!

I have tried to attach some pictures from Halloween, but for some reason it is not letting me, so I guess if I can figure it out, I'll post them later.

You asked for it, so here it is!

Okay, I've had some people bugging me to update my blog, so here it is! McKenzie is now 7 weeks old and growing like a weed. She is already SO big, I can't believe it. We blessed her on September 28th and there is a picture below of her blessing day. Burton is still very much in love with his sister, he just wants to hug and kiss her ALL the time. I'd rather have that I guess than have him being jealous and naughty.

Probably the most exciting thing for us right now is that our short sale got approved and we are just waiting to hear about a closing date! So, we have started to look at some houses and we are just praying that it goes through and we can get into our own house soon!!!

We took another trip to St. George a few weeks ago. McKenzie has already been twice in her young life! While we were there, we found a TARANTULA in my parents backyard. I took a picture with my phone, I wish I could get it onto the computer, it was actually kind of cool. Just as long as it stays OUTSIDE!!!

Well, not too exciting, but I will post some pics below for you!!!

My How Time Flies!

Well, our little McKenzie is already 2 weeks old and even crazier is that she already weighs 8 lbs 11 oz! I think she might be a little chunkier than her brother, who never made it out of the 5th percentile for his weight! Things are going really well so far, other than Burton occasionally wants nothing to do with me. McKenzie is a really good baby and I just hope she stays that way. Burton really seems to like his little sister, it's just his Mom he has a hard time with now. I already feel back to my normal self and can't wait to start working out and lose some of this baby weight, although that is still another 4 weeks away according to doctors orders. Well, just thought I'd post a little update and share some more pics!

Introducing Our Newest Addition, McKenzie May Marlor!

Well, she is finally here and the following is the story of her birth! I was induced on Monday, August 25th and arrived at the hospital about 9:30. It took quite a while to get me all hooked up to everything and it was about 11:00 before I was hooked up to the Pitocin to start contractions. At 1:30 my doctor came in to break my water and I had only progressed to 2 cm. I was thinking we were going to be in it for the long haul! Well, luckily, I was wrong. About 2 hours later I was to a 4 and about another 2 hours after that I was to a 7. I asked for the epidural around the time I was 4 cm. I wasn't in a TON of pain, but I figured I would probably end up with one in the end, so I would save myself the agony. Right after the nurse checked me and I was 7 I started shaking really bad and she said I was in transition. Thirty minutes later, I was to a 10 and it was time to push. My doctor came in and within 4-5 pushes, she was out! This time was SO different and so much easier than with Burton. With Burton I could not feel ANYTHING, my epidural was SO strong. This time I could move my toes and I could feel all the pressure of her coming down, but no pain. I never believed people when they said they could feel that pressure because I literally felt nothing with Burton, but I much prefer it this way and I could actually feel to push. McKenzie entered the world at 5:40 p.m. (only 4 hours after my water was broken) and she weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair and is such a sweetheart. We came home on Wednesday the 27th and we are both doing very well. My recovery seems to be much easier this time too. Maybe everything is just easier the second time around! Burton has been really good for the most part and loves to give her kisses. We are just so glad she is here and feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy children.

Anxiously Waiting

Yes, I am still pregnant and just anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little Makenzie. I didn't get to be in the room, which was hard for me, but they said he was really good. Thank goodness that ordeal is over and now I just hope he doesn't ever knock his other tooth. I don't know how well you can see it in this picture, but this is a picture of Burton with his mising front tooth.

So, as most of you know, my son is obsessed with trains and especially loves Thomas the Tank Engine. So when Thomas came to Heber, of course we had to go see him. I must say I was quite disappointed and thought the train ride was really stupid (10 mins down the track at 5 MPH and back), but Burton loved it of course! Here are a few pictures from our "Day out with Thomas".

As for the rest of us, we are just plugging along, taking everything day to day. We have an offer on our house and have applied for a short sale, so it's just up to the bank at this point as to whether or not they accept the offer. We are praying they will, so we can just be done with it and finally get our own place here. Oh, I did turn 30 this last Friday too! Holy cow, I can't believe I'm 30! We only have about 4 weeks left before Makenzie gets here too, my how time flies! So, there you go, it's not a very exciting update, but at least it's an update. I'll try to do better going forward.

Poor, poor Burton

So, on Wednesday I noticed that Burton was looking an awful lot like a Who from Whoville. So I felt the skin between your nose and upper lip and it was swollen and had a hard bump. Well, I decided to just wait a few days and see what happened. Well, the next morning he woke up and it was about twice the size of the day before, so I decided it was time to go to the doctor. The pediatrician looked at it and she said she had never seen anything like it, but she thought it was either a bad tooth causing it or a tumor. Well the word tumor about just sends me through the roof. So, while she was out trying to call Primary Childrens to get us up there for an ultrasound, I am just trying to keep it together and the whole time my sweet Burton is saying "Don't cry Mommy" and giving me hugs and kisses (he is such a little sweetheart!). The doctor comes back in and has decided to send us to the dentist instead because she really thought it was a problem with his tooth. So, we head off to the dentist and they squeezed us in during lunch. They took some x-rays and both dentists agreed that the tooth was dead and needed to be pulled and it was causing infection, which resulted in the swelling. So, we schedule the extraction and go home. Well, the next day he cries for about an hour and a half after waking up and I can't figure out why he is so upset. Well, after his bath, he opened his mouth a little bit and I saw something that looked like food. Well I pull his lip back and see the most disgusting puss and sore I've ever seen. I freaked out and called the dentist saying that his tooth must be taken out today. They tell me he has to be on the medication for at least 24-48 hours or the numbing won't take effect. So, I called another pediatric dentist and they told me the same thing. Well, by the end of the day, his lip was almost completely back to normal because it had just been draining all day (gross I know). So, today is Sunday and my poor little boy has to go get his tooth pulled tomorrow, even though he has been acting fine and now the "sore" looks much better. Obviously we don't want to deal with infections though for the next 5-6 years before his tooth falls out. So, wish me luck, I'm sure he'll do fine and I will be the one freaking out. He is SO dang good for the doctors and dentists that poked and prodded in his mouth, he just would sit there and let them look. Have I mentioned that he is a sweetheart?

Mothers Day

Well, today was Mothers Day, not much different from any other day except that I did not touch one plate or wash one dish after dinner. I did help make dinner because we had my Grandma over and I certainly didn't want MY Mom doing all of the work, but afterwards, I was OFF DUTY! Burton made me a card in nursery with an outline of his hands and for some reason before his nap I got MANY long kisses! I just have to say that being a mother is the BEST job in the whole world and it certainly helps to have such a good kid to be a mother to! I think it was my calling in life to be a Mom and I would probably have 10 kids if Brandon would let me! The presents on Mothers Day are nice, but I just find so much joy in being a Mom and getting hugs and kisses from my little guy every day.

Burton is such a jabberbox lately and he cracks me up with some of the things he says. My favorites right now are "couple days" and "what's that noisy?". The voice he says it in makes it that much cuter though. He also has started calling the baby Kenzie, so I guess we have no choice now, but to name her Makenzie!

Well, it's really late for me, so I better be getting to bed.

Testing

Okay, this post is really just to test to see if I can add a picture to my blog.
