Introducing Our Newest Addition, McKenzie May Marlor!

Well, she is finally here and the following is the story of her birth! I was induced on Monday, August 25th and arrived at the hospital about 9:30. It took quite a while to get me all hooked up to everything and it was about 11:00 before I was hooked up to the Pitocin to start contractions. At 1:30 my doctor came in to break my water and I had only progressed to 2 cm. I was thinking we were going to be in it for the long haul! Well, luckily, I was wrong. About 2 hours later I was to a 4 and about another 2 hours after that I was to a 7. I asked for the epidural around the time I was 4 cm. I wasn't in a TON of pain, but I figured I would probably end up with one in the end, so I would save myself the agony. Right after the nurse checked me and I was 7 I started shaking really bad and she said I was in transition. Thirty minutes later, I was to a 10 and it was time to push. My doctor came in and within 4-5 pushes, she was out! This time was SO different and so much easier than with Burton. With Burton I could not feel ANYTHING, my epidural was SO strong. This time I could move my toes and I could feel all the pressure of her coming down, but no pain. I never believed people when they said they could feel that pressure because I literally felt nothing with Burton, but I much prefer it this way and I could actually feel to push. McKenzie entered the world at 5:40 p.m. (only 4 hours after my water was broken) and she weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long. She has a head full of dark hair and is such a sweetheart. We came home on Wednesday the 27th and we are both doing very well. My recovery seems to be much easier this time too. Maybe everything is just easier the second time around! Burton has been really good for the most part and loves to give her kisses. We are just so glad she is here and feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy children.

Anxiously Waiting

Yes, I am still pregnant and just anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little Makenzie. There is a full moon tonight, so I'm crossing my fingers, LOL! My actual due date is the 19th, but I am just SO ready to have her! So, if you are reading this, start praying that she comes soon!

As for Burton, he is as good as ever and just makes me smile and laugh every day. I hope he does okay once the baby is here. It will be hard to divide my time between two, but everybody does it, right?

Well, hopefully the next time I post will be to announce our new arrival!
